Foundation for Advancement of Agriculture and Rural Development

Established in the year 2005, FAARD Foundation has been working for the betterment of rural population through technological interventions, capacity building and their empowerment. In a short journey of a decade and a half, the Foundation has left impact among the rural population, especially of eastern Uttar Pradesh by engaging itself in creation of farmer groups viz. FPOs, SHGs, entrepreneurs and start-ups. This approach has inculcated mutual trust, operational transparency, cost and time effectiveness and accountability, which is benefiting the farmers and weaker sectionsof the society including women through their enhanced employment, increased productivity and income. This group approach has linked farmers to local, national and global markets and opened a new avenue for their product export and income generation. On communication and information front, beside formal mechanisms, quarterly publication of FAARD SAMVAD has served as an effective two-way carrier of information on agriculture, rural development, education, health, environment, natural resources, technological advancement and others for their knowledge empowerment and a holistic and sustainable growth in their socio-economic status.
